Mutton saag

Another one from the Hairy Bikers, and another one where I don't repost a recent recipe.  I followed the instructions pretty much to the letter, but there wasn't enough mutton left on the Hunts Hill stall at the farmers market so it's padded out with some diced stewing lamb.

Hairy Bikers' stuff does tend to just work, and this one delivered.  In fact, it was quite fun to do with some glorious cooking smells.

Tasted pretty bloody marvellous too.  Believe it or not neither of us had had mutton before, but it was gorgeous - absolutely melt in the mouth.  The slow cooking allowed the flavours to all come through but mellowed the heat down.  Thanks Hairy Bikers!

  1. Oh wow, this looks gorgeous! I love mutton, it's such a lovely flavour-packed meat. I may well have to give this recipe a go!
