I wasn't planning on writing anything about tonight's dinner, because I got the recipe from a TV programme which only went out this week and it felt a bit too much like plagiarism. In the event I had to say something though, because it was so absolutely delicious!
I really like Nigel Slater as a TV cook (he always insists he's not a chef) - he comes across really well, and I like his simple cooking style. A combination of his lovely recipe and top-quality smoked mackerel from Sussex Smokers (I'm not being sponsored by them, I promise) made this an absolute delight.
